Ada Peel is 20 years old.
For the previous three years she has been working in a munitions factory in Sheffield.
She has been allowed to finish work early as her eldest brother Frank is on his way home having been demobbed from the army.
Had it not been for the war and the need for women to do jobs previously regarded as work undertaken by men Ada would have probably been in domestic service before marrying and raising a family of her own.
Whilst happy she is to be reunited with her brother Frank, another brother, John Peel, was reported missing in May 1915. The family has now lost all hope of ever seeing John again.
