Ticket Information: Tickets for Home from the Front train trips include a 25 minute train journey, on which you'll find local people telling the real life stories of villagers from Elsecar, Wentworth and Hoyland who served in or supported the war effort. You'll ride in a period railway carriage, visiting especially for the event, and be pulled by an EHR based steam engine.

DEMOB CONCERT - November 9th: 7pm to 9:30pm Join Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir and other local performers for an evening of music and poetry in Elsecar's historic Ironworks to commemorate the end of the First World War on November 9th. The 'DEMOB' concert takes place on the eve of Armistice weekend, which is to be commemorated in a very special way at Elsecar in this centenary year.
Armistice Day Tea - November 11th In the Milton Hall in Elsecar, a community venue close to our main experience. After the commemorations of the morning, this is an opportunity to celebrate the armistice, ending the fighting of the Great War 100 years ago today.
